Japan-Hawaiian Steel Guitar Festival
Moto Suzuki and Miki Reina

Moto Suzuki

Moto Suzuki will appear with Miki Reina. Together they are in a band called Aloha M2.

At age 10, Moto heard a steel guitar recording by a famous Japanese singer and was so impressed by that sound that he decided to learn the steel guitar. He bought parts to modify a guitar to become a steel guitar, studied instruction books and practiced fingering until he went to sleep.

His older brother was also a musician, singing and playing the ‘ukulele. In Moto's third year of high school he bought a tape recorder and recorded their performances.

He became a professional entertainer for a while, but changing music tastes forced him to other jobs.

He resumed the steel guitar 20 years later, developing his own "Moto Style" tuning based on Am. He is currently a professional musician who mainly works as Aloha M2 with Miki Reina.

Vocalist Miki Reina has a charming and beautiful voice. She has written many lyrics. Her representative works include Love Dance, Honatsugi Romance, Pineapple Juice, etc. The songs are composed by Moto Suzuki.
